AIMS and TASKS
The aim of this working group is to assist the Academy in achieving key aspects of its work as expressed in its purpose statement, namely to give attention to various historical and cultural contexts in which practical theology is done, and to promote international, interracial, and ecumenical dialogue and understanding. One way to achieve this is to aim for more inclusive membership of the IAPT in terms of geography, race, gender, language and theological traditions. The tasks of the working group thus include the following:
- critical reflection on the ideas of inclusivity and representation
- consideration of strategies for more inclusive membership of the Academy
- advancement of the interests of “underrepresented” groups in the work of the Academy
All members of the Academy are invited to join this working group and/or to share their ideas in order to achieve our aim, namely to become a truly inclusive and international academy of practical theology.
